Missed Call Text Back That Saves the Job Before It Goes to a Competitor
When you can't pick up, your customer usually calls the next business on the list. Missed call text back sends a friendly text from your business number within seconds, starts the conversation, and puts the lead in front of you. You don't have to change anything about how you work.
Your voicemail is where leads go to die
Most callers who reach voicemail hang up without leaving a message. Then they call the next result on Google Maps. If you're on a roof, under a sink, with a patient, or simply closed, you're losing paid-for leads every week without knowing it.
A text right after a missed call changes that. Customers answer texts faster than they return calls, and it tells them a real business noticed them. A missed call becomes an open conversation you can pick up when your hands are free.
How it works
- 01
A call goes unanswered
Your line rings out, goes to voicemail, or comes in after hours. Your number stays the same, and so does the way your phones ring.
- 02
An instant text goes out
Within seconds the caller gets a text from your business: "Sorry we missed you — this is Front Range Plumbing. What can we help with?" The wording is yours.
- 03
The conversation is captured
Replies come to your phone or a shared inbox. The contact, the call, and the conversation are logged to your CRM or a Google Sheet automatically.
- 04
You get alerted
Urgent keywords like "leak", "emergency", or "today" trigger an alert by text or email so the hot ones get a call back first.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to change my phone number?
No. We either add texting to your existing business number where your carrier allows it, or set up conditional call forwarding so unanswered calls route through a text-enabled number. Customers keep calling the number they already know.
Is texting customers who called me legal?
Replying by text to someone who just called your business is a normal, expected response. We still register your number with the carriers (A2P 10DLC), include opt-out language, and honor STOP replies automatically so you stay compliant and your texts get delivered.
Can it answer questions instead of just texting back?
Yes. If you want, the text conversation can be handled by an AI assistant that answers common questions and books appointments. Most businesses start with a simple text back and add AI later. For full phone coverage, pair it with our AI Call Agent.
What does it cost to run?
On our managed plan, it's a one-time setup fee plus a monthly fee that covers the phone number, text volume, and monitoring. If you'd rather own the accounts, you pay the platforms directly and we charge only for setup and optional support. Either way, we quote it upfront after a short call.
Who is this a good fit for?
Any business where the owner or staff can't always get to the phone: trades like HVAC, plumbing, and roofing, salons and med spas, auto shops, dental offices, and solo professionals.
